BAFTA Young Game Designers Awards

Friday, March 25th, 2011

BAFTA Young Games DesignersBeached Whale Productions walked away with the coveted title of the first ever team to win BAFTA Young Game Designers. The team of three won the prize having been whittled down from hundreds of entries over serveral rounds of jury voting.

New initiative BAFTA Young Game Designers, a competition giving teams of children aged 11-16 the chance to design their very own video games, was won by Beached Whale Productions (Dan Pearce, 16; Sam Taylor, 16 and James Cook, 13) for their game design HAMSTER: accidental world domination.

The winners were announced at the glittering EA British Academy Children’s Awards on 28 November 2010. As well as winning a BAFTA YGD trophy each and a selection of computer games hardware, each member of the team will be offered the opportunity to work at game design company EA so they can experience how real game designers work.

Congratulations to all three nominated teams and everyone who entered BAFTA Young Game Designers 2010. The judges were hugely impressed with the remarkably high standard of entries.

Jamy produced the acrylic award that you see in the picture. As you can see from the photo, we produced a splendid result, which we are sure takes pride of place on the winners shelves. Please contact us on 01480 456391 to discuss how we can produce similar awards for you.

mcnThe MCN awards recognise the very best that motorcycling has to offer, from the most talented and greatest racers in the world, to the greatest men, machines, products and dealers that keep the industry thriving. The MCN Awards truly are the Oscars of motorcycling and recognise the very best that motorcycling has to offer, from the most talented and greatest racers in the world, to the greatest men, machines, products and dealers that keep our industry thriving.

MCN goes to every length to ensure the judging process is completely fair and objective, ensuring awards are only given to companies deserving of a trophy in the face of stiff competition. The judging process is very intensive and lasts for a one-week period to ensure that each entry is given ample scrutiny.

The 2010 awards were awarded to the best in the biking word by MCN readers who have rated the best of the best that they own and use.

The MCN readers decided that the Machine of the Year was the BMW S10000RR, the Dealer of the Year was M&S Motorcycles, the Product Of The Year was the Nitro Aikido Helmet. With many other categories and winners, the MCN acrylic award produced by Jamy featured heavily in the awards ceremony.

Every category winner who was honoured at the awards were given a high quality superb looking acrylic award, which will be displayed with pride. It’s worth knowing that cast acrylic is a fully recyclable material making it very environmentally friendly, and you’ll find that here at Jamy Ltd we recycle more than 95% of the ‘waste’ material created in the process before using the reclaimed materials to create awards and plaques.
